Poison

Poison

Poison emerged from the Los Angeles rock scene of the mid-1980s and became one of the most recognizable bands of the glam metal era. Known for their catchy hooks, energetic performances, and party-ready anthems, the band helped define a period when hard rock dominated radio, MTV, and arenas across the United States and beyond. Led by vocalist Bret Michaels, Poison combined hard-driving guitar riffs with pop-influenced melodies that appealed to a broad mainstream audience. The band's breakthrough came with their debut album, Look What the Cat Dragged In (1986), which featured songs such as “Talk Dirty to Me,” “I Want Action,” and “Cry Tough.” Their popularity grew even further with Open Up and Say... Ahh! (1988), a multi-platinum release that produced major hits including “Nothin' but a Good Time,” “Fallen Angel,” and the power ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” The latter became one of the defining rock songs of its era and remains the band's signature hit. Throughout albums such as Flesh & Blood and later releases, Poison maintained a sound built on memorable choruses, guitar-driven arrangements, and themes of romance, rebellion, and good times. While musical trends shifted in the 1990s, the band's catalog continued to attract fans through classic rock radio, live tours, and nostalgia-driven audiences.
